Faith's Checkbook (By: C.H. Spurgeon)

                                                                 Is There a Difference?

Against none of the children of Israel shall a dog move its tongue, against man or beast, that you may know that the Lord does make a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.
                                                                                  ~ Exodus 11:7

"God even has power over the tongues of dogs! He can prevent an Egyptian dog from worrying the lambs of Israel's flock. Does God silence dogs, and doggish ones among men, and the great dog at hell's gate? Then let us go forward without fear.
If He lets dogs move their tongues, He can also stop their teeth. They may make a dreadful noise but will do us no real harm. How delightful to move among enemies and perceive that God makes them to be at peace with us! Like Daniel in the den of lions, we are unhurt amid destroyers.
May this word of the Lord be true to me today! Does the dog worry me? I will tell my Lord about  him. Give me peace, God, and let me see Your hand so distinctly in it that I may clearly perceive the difference that Your grace has made between me and the ungodly!"

  1. Thank You Lord, for keeping the tongues of the dogs shut so that we may go by peaceably. Thank You for keeping us safe and giving us Your precious grace and peace in our hearts that we may walk among enemies and not be hurt. Thank You Lord, this we say in Jesus Christ' precious name, Amen.
