Faith's Checkbook (By: C.H. Spurgeon)

                                                                   Immediate Freedom

"Now I will break off his yoke from you, and burst your bonds apart."
                                                                              ~ Nahum 1:13

"The Assyrian was allowed for a season to oppress the Lord's people, but there came a time for his power to be broken. Just so, many a heart is held in bondage by Satan. To such prisoners of hope may the word of the Lord come at once, "Now I will break off his yoke from you."
See! The Lord promises a present deliverance: "Now I will break off his yoke from you." Believe for immediate freedom; and, according to your faith, so  shall it be. When God says "now," let no man say tomorrow.
See how complete the rescue is to be; it is a display of divine force that guarantees that the oppressor shall not return. His yoke is broken; we cannot again be bowed down by its weight. His bonds are burst apart; they can no longer hold us. Come, Lord, and set free Your captives, according to Your word."

  1. Lord, thank you for breaking the yokes from off of us, and for breaking the chains of bondage. This we thank you, in Jesus Christ' precious name, Amen.
