Cure for Envy
Do not let your heart envy sinners, but be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day; for surely there is a hereafter, and your hope will not be cut off.
~ Proverbs 23:17-18
"When we see the wicked prosper we are apt to envy them and think that they have the best of it. This is foolish and sinful. If we knew them better, and especially if we remembered their end, we would pity them.
The cure for envy lies in living under a constant sense of the divine presence, worshiping God, and communing with Him all the day long. True religion lifts the soul into a higher region. The more of heaven there is in our lives, the less of earth we shall covet. The fear of God casts out envy.
The deathblow of envy is a calm consideration of the future. What is the prosperous sinner the better for his prosperity when judgment overtakes him? As for the godly man, his end is peace and blessedness, and none can rob him of his joy; therefore, let him forego envy and be filled with sweet content."(By: Charles H. I AM TRUELY SORRY FOR NOT POST YESTERDAY'S MESSAGE. I HAD ALOT OF STUFF TO DO YESTERDAY.
ReplyDeleteHEAVENLY FATHER, WE COME BEFORE YOU ASKING WITH OUR WHOLE HEART THAT YOU WILL HELP US TO FIGHT THE TEMPTATION OF ENVY TOWARDS SINNERS. WE WANT GOOD THINGS TO BE BROUGHT INTO OUR LIVES. WE WANT TO LIVE FOR ETERNITY WITH YOU LORD, WE DO NOT WANT TO HAVE ETERNAL DEATH WITH SATAN. HELP US TO MEDITATE ON YOUR WORD DAILY. HELP US TO STAY FOCUSED ON THE GOOD THINGS AND NOT WHAT EVERYONE ELSE HAS. THIS WE PRAY IN JESUS CHRIST' PRECIOUS NAME, AMEN.
ReplyDeleteREMEMBER, THE THINGS THAT WE WANT AND STORE HERE ON EARTH IS WHERE OUR TREASURE LIES, BUT IF WE STORE OUR TREASURE UP IN HEAVEN AND NOT HERE ON EARTH, WE WILL HAVE ALL THE TREASURES THAT WE COULD NOT HAVE HERE ON EARTH, AND MUCH MORE. SO STORE YOUR TREASURE IN HEAVEN, NOT HERE ON EARTH, BECAUSE WHERE YOUR TREASURES LIE, THAT IS WHERE YOUR HEART IS.
