Reward Is Certain
"Whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward."
~ Matthew 10:42
"I can do that. I can do a kind act toward the Lord's servant. For the sake of the Master, I love the disciples.
How gracious of the Lord to mention so insignificant an action as giving a cup of cold water only! This I can do, however poor; this I may do, however lowly; this I will do, cheerfully. This, which seems so little, the Lord notices when done to the least of His followers. It is not the cost, the skill, or the quantity that He looks at, but the motive: that which we do to a disciple, because he is a disciple, according to the riches of His grace.
I give a cup of cold water, and He makes me to drink of living water. I give to one of His little ones, and He treats me as one of them. He says, "He shall by no means lose his reward."" (By: Charles H. Spurgeon ~ One Minute Devotions)
Is this not cool or what, that the good Lord notices something so small as a cup of cold water being given to one of His servants. Thank You Lord, for reconizing something as little as a cup of cold water. When I see a need Lord I will do my best to fill that need if I can, and if I cannot Lord, I ask that You will help me find someone who can fill that need. In Jesus' Precious Name, Amen!
