He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

"Here is the way of mercy for a sinner. He must cease from the habit of covering sin. This is attempted by falsehood, which denies sin; by hypocrisy, which conceals it; by boasting, which justifies it, and by loud profession, which tries to make amends for it.
The sinner must confess and forsake. Confession must be honestly made to the Lord. We must not throw the fault upon others, or blame circumstances, or plead natural weakness. We must make a clean breast of it and plead guilty. There can be no mercy till this is done.
Lord, I pray that my flesh will not cover not one of my sins, that when I sin I will confess it right away and try to not do that sin again. In Jesus' precious name, Amen!
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's hard to reconize when you have sinned, because we have a covering over our eyes blinding us from the truth. Sin can be as little as a white lie, or as big as the world. Sin comes in all shapes and sizes. We never know when sin is coming around the corner, until it hits us real hard where it hurts the most. Jesus said to confess our sins one to another, what do you say, should we do it, or should we stay covered.
