Faith's Checkbook (By: C.H. Spurgeon)

                                                                    A Triple Promise

"If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
                                                                                  ~ 2 Chronicles 7:14

"Called by the name of the Lord, we are nevertheless sinful men. What a mercy it is that our God is ready to forgive! Whenever we sin let us hasten to the mercy seat of our God, seeking pardon.
We are to humble ourselves. Should we not be humbled by the fact that after receiving so much love, we still sin? Lord, we bow before You and own our grievous ingradtitude.
We are to pray for mercy, cleansing, and deliverance from the power of sin. Lord, hear us even now, and shut not out our cry. In this prayer we are to seek the Lord's face. With this must go our own turning from evil, God cannot turn to us unless we turn from sin.
Then comes the triple promise of hearing, pardon, and healing. Father, we pray You grant us these at once." (By: Charles H. Spurgeon ~ One Minute Devotions)

  1. Please pray this prayer with me this morning. Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, debts, and our trespasses against You and man, as we forgive those who are indebted to us, and those who have trespassed against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from all evil; For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Honor and Glory forever. It is in Christ Jesus' Precious Name, Amen!
