Faith's Checkbook (By: C.H. Spurgeon)

December 28, 2010
                                                         Absolute Assurance

He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
                                                                                       ~ Hebrews 13:5

"Several times in the  Scriptures the Lord has said this. Let us never harbor a doubt of it. In itself the promise is especially emphatic. In the Greek it has five negatives, each one definitely shutting out the possibility of the Lord's ever lasting leaving one of His people.
this priceless Scripture does not promise us exemption from trouble, but it does secure us against desertion. We may be called to traverse strange ways, but we shall always have our Lord's company, assistance, and provision. His favor is better than fortune.
We ought surely to be content with  such things as we have, for he who has God has more than all the world besides. What can we have beyond the Infinite?
If God says He will never leave you nor forsake you, be much in prayer for grace, that you may never leave Him, nor even for a moment forsake His ways." (By: Charles H. Spurgeon ~ One Minute Devotions)

  1. Please pray this prayer with me this morning. Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on Earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us of all our sins, our debts, and our trespasses against You and man, as we forgive those who are indebted to us, and those who have trepassed against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from all evil:for Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Honor, and the Glory, forever. It is in Christ Jesus' Precious Name, Amen!
