Faith's Checkbook (By: C.H. Spurgeon)

Immortal Until the Lord's Work Is Done

I shall not die, but live, and delcare the works of the Lord.
                                                                                       ~ Psalm 118:17

"Is my case like that of David? Are there multitudes against me, and few on my side? Does unbelief bid me lie down and die in despair - a defeated man? Do my enemies begin to dig my grave?
What then? shall I yield to the whisper of fear and give up the battle, and with it give up all hope? Far from it. There is life in me yet, "I shall not die." Vigor will return and remove my weakness, "I shall live." The Lord lives, and I shall live also.
I shall speak of the present trouble as another instance of the wonder - working faithfulness and love of my God. Those who would gladly measure me for my coffin had better wait a bit, for "the Lord has chastened me severly, but He has not given me over to death" (Ps. 118:18). Till the Lord wills it, no vault can close upon me." (By: Charles H. Spurgeon ~ One Minute Devotions)

  1. Please pray this prayer with me this morning. Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on Earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. For give us of our sins, our debts, and our trespasses against You and man, as we forgive those who are indebted to us, and those who have trespassed against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from all evil: For Thine is Kingdom, and the Power, and the Honor, and the Glory, forever. It is in Christ Jesus' Precious Name, Amen!
